Encryption administrators can create encryption keys with key management software (outside the Anaplan platform).
As an encryption administrator, you can:
- Generate encryption keys directly from the manager device.
- Upload keys generated from an external crypto management application.
- Upload a wrapped key.
New encryption standard
We updated the encryption standard with AES256-CBC-CS1. AES stands for Advanced Enryption Standard and Cipher Block Chain (CBC) is a block encryption mode within the AES. This update enhances security with the revised standard. You can no longer use AES256 (the older standard) keys for assignment and re-assignment to workspaces.
Notes:
- Your current encrypted workspaces aren't impacted.
- The Anaplan repository shows existing keys and those keys prepared in the old standard as AES256. New keys display as AES256-CBC-CS1.
