The dashboard import tool only supports certain dashboard items. Consider this when you import dashboards.

The dashboard import tool supports text boxes, published module views, and standard charts from dashboards. These display as text cards, grid cards, and chart cards respectively.

If Show Page Selector is enabled for an item on a dashboard that is not synchronized, context selectors display on any related cards. If an item is synchronized on a dashboard, its context selectors display at the top of the board. To ensure context selectors display correctly, configure them for the board page.

Imported text boxes display as a text card with the same style.

Published module views display as grid cards based on a custom view. When you import a published module view as a grid card, the grid card retains the following editable customizations:

  • Filter
  • Sort
  • Conditional Formatting
  • Level Selections (except as part of a sort)
  • Totals Position
  • Show selections
  • Filtered line items
  • Hide selections
  • Reordered line items
  • Ragged selections

If your grid requires an unsupported customization, use a module view for your grid card instead.

The import function does not retain any quick filters applied to a published module view. If you need to filter your data, edit your grid cards and apply filters.

When you import a published module view, the name of the grid card is the source module name. If you need to change this, edit the title of the grid card.

The import function retains conditional formatting. However, the colors available when you edit conditional formatting in the UX are different. As a result, you may need to use different colors.

Charts from a dashboard display as chart cards. You can import these standard chart types:

The import function does not support map, funnel, timeline, or waterfall charts.

The import function does not retain the colors of charts on the dashboard. The imported chart cards use default colors.

Currently, the dashboard import tool does not support these dashboard elements:
