Dashboard import compatibility

The dashboard import tool only supports certain dashboard items. Consider this when you import dashboards.

The layout of boards and dashboards is different. Some dashboard layouts may not be supported when you import as a board. 

Boards can contain an unlimited number of rows. Each row can contain up to six columns, and each column can contain up to four cards.

On dashboards, rows can contain more than six columns, and each column can contain more than four items. When you import a dashboard with an unsupported layout, the rules below apply:

• If a column in a dashboard contains more than four items, these are spread out across additional columns on a board.
• If a row contains more than six columns, extra columns import to a new row or rows on a board.
• If a row contains six or less columns, the horizontal space of a board is divided equally between them.

The dashboard import tool supports text boxes, published module views, and standard charts from dashboards.

The dashboard import tool doesn't support: 

• Subsidiary views.
• Lists from Grid View in General Lists. 
• Published line items or page selectors. 
• Images. 

If Show Page Selector is enabled for an item on a dashboard that:

• Isn't synchronized, context selectors display on any related cards.
• Is synchronized, context selectors display at the top of the board.

To make sure context selectors display correctly on a board page, you must configure them.

Imported text boxes display as a text card with the same style.

When you import a published module view, the name of the grid card is the source module name. To change this, edit the title of the grid card. 

Published module views display as grid cards based on a custom view. When you import a published module view as a grid card, the grid card keeps editable customizations. Pivot and synchronization aren't supported. If your grid needs an unsupported customization, use a module view for your grid card instead.

The import function doesn't keep any quick filters applied to a published module view. If you need to filter your data, edit your grid cards and apply filters.

The import function keeps conditional formatting. However, the colors available when you edit conditional formatting in the UX are different. As a result, you may need to use different colors.

Charts from a dashboard display as chart cards. You can import bar and column, combination, line, and pie charts.

The import function doesn't:

• Support map, funnel, timeline, or waterfall charts.
• Keep the colors of the charts on the dashboard. Imported chart cards use default colors.
