You can publish a chart to a dashboard to add visual impact and make it easier to spot patterns in your data.

This procedure is to add charts to dashboards. You can add charts with improved, modern visualizations to your boards and worksheets in the Anaplan User Experience.

You must be a workspace administrator with access to the module data a chart displays to publish that chart to a dashboard.

To publish a chart to a dashboard:

  1. Go to Modules () and open the module that contains the data you want to chart.
  2. Generate a chart.
This launches the Chart Options dialog.
  3. In the Chart Options dialog, select Publish to Dashboard and either:
    • Select the name of the dashboard to which you want to publish your chart.
The dashboard opens in Dashboard Designer and displays the chart.
    • Select New Dashboard.
Follow the steps to publish to a new dashboard.
  4. Optionally, rearrange dashboard components:
    • To move a dashboard component, select it, then click and drag the blue Move handle to position it.
    • To resize a dashboard component, hover over the bottom right-hand corner of the component until an arrow displays. Click and drag the arrow to expand or contract the component.
Note: You can resize all dashboard elements except actions, processes, page selectors, and list subsets.
  5. Optionally, edit the chart:
    1. Select the arrow in the top-left corner.
    2. Select Chart Options.
You have the same options as you do when you generate a chart. However, you can select to Publish Copy To to publish the chart to a different dashboard, or Update Dashboard to update the current chart on the current dashboard.
  6. If the dashboard toolbar is hidden, right-click the dashboard tab and select Show/hide the dashboard toolbar.
In Anaplan Classic, select the dashboard tab.
  7. In the dashboard toolbar, either:
    • Select Save to publish and remain in Dashboard Designer.
    • Select Save & Exit to publish and view the published dashboard.
