A dashboard is a combination of grids and charts published from modules in a model.

Each dashboard can have as many grid and chart elements as you like and these elements can be drawn from different modules. Dashboards can also include images.

Dashboards can be as complex or as simple as you want. There's no limit to the number of elements you can add to a dashboard, although complex dashboards may take longer to load, especially if pulling data from a very large model with filters applied.

If you're concerned about the potential performance of a dashboard, build it up slowly, element by element, testing each addition with multiple users.

Different user types will interact with dashboards in different ways. Some users will design and build dashboards and some will work with the data on the dashboards. Workspace administrators will control access to dashboards and ensure consistency.

The dashboards that users have access to are listed in Contents and will open in a new tab.

Select Dashboard Designer from the Dashboard menu to quickly create and refine dashboards. The tools required are on screen, creating a flexible and responsive environment to work in.

You can create a dashboard by publishing module elements to a new or existing dashboard. Dashboards are also used as the basis of data entry forms.
