For all modes, follow these steps.
You must run SQL Server 2008 or above, any edition. It can be run on a different server to Anaplan XL Web without any changes to the setup process.
- Create a blank SQL Server database, and grant full access to the user doing the installation.
- Set the Recovery Mode to Simple.
- Ensure the database is set to a case-insensitive locale and that the default locale for the server isn't case-sensitive.
- On the Anaplan XL Web Edition server, run the Configure Anaplan XL Web Edition application.
- Select the appropriate Web Edition instance.
- On the SQL Repository tab, and select Use SQL for Anaplan XL Repository.
- Enter the server and database names for the previously created blank database, and select Connect.
- The application will ask you if you want to populate the database. Select Yes to the message.
- Select the mode to run in:
- Role-based — Active directory groups and users are assigned to roles. Roles are granted permissions to reports/functionality.
- Domain-based — Active directory groups and users are granted permissions to reports/functionality.
- Hybrid mode — Enables report usage tracking and text commentary - reports are stored in the filesystem or SharePoint.
Follow the rest of the setup for the mode you select.
