When you post a journal entry, along with the posting of the journal itself, certain calculations can occur.

If a journal entry is posted to an Income Statement account, this amount must be transferred to the Retained Earnings Current Year account (CYNI calculation). This calculation/Data transfer will occur automatically once the Journal entry is posted.

Note:

  • This calculation relies on the sysnames:
    • NetIncome
    • CurrentEarnings
  • This calculation needs a default input member set for the Intercompany dimension and all other dimensions that aren't standard.

Like the transfer from Net Income to Retained Earnings in the current year, similar transfers are also made for these sysname pairings.

The Audit dimension contains Audit Type property and Manual is one of the options.

To modify the Audit Type property, go to the Dimensions tab in the Models module. Any journal entries recorded under these Manual Audit members are automatically calculated and posted with the Closing Movement values.

The calculation of the closing movement happens:

  • When you post a JE to a Manual Audit member.
  • Or when you run the Open Period Rollover.

Note: This is only applicable to a European Consolidation system.
