User administrators can assign and manage licenses for internal and visiting users in the Administration console.

Each license type you purchase has an allocated number of seats you can assign to users. You can use the Summary page to view how many seats you have assigned, and how many seats the license types have left.

For example, this image of the Summary page shows the Planner license type is over the limit of seats assigned. The User licenses section in the right-side panel shows that 73 of 70 seats were assigned to that license.

The Administration Summary page with the User license section expanded in the right-side panel.

Note: The image above is an example of what might display on your Summary page. The information that displays depends on your license terms and purchases.

You can assign licenses when you create new internal users. You can also edit the user details to change the license type. If a previously created internal user doesn't have a license, you can assign them one.

You can assign licenses when you invite visiting users to your tenant. You can also edit the user details to change the license type. If a previously created visiting user doesn't have a license, you can assign them one
