When writeback is enabled for a grid, any cell can be changed. This means that data entry permissions are based on the security defined in the source cube/model.
You can change this default behavior and control which cells should be allowed at the grid level by selecting the Cells must be unlocked checkboxbox on the Writeback tab in the Grid Properties window.
As grid cells are by default locked in the format sheet, any writeback is then prevented in the grid. To unlock cells, navigate to the XLCubedFormats worksheet, right-click a cell or cells, select Format Cells > Locked checkbox on the Protection tab.
