Rollover rules are created to copy data from the last period of the previous year to period 1 of the current year (Copy Opening) or from one month to the next in the same year (Rollover Month).

The Rollover Rules form enables you to add, delete, edit, and duplicate the Rollover Rules.

To access the form:

  1. Select the Maintain module.
  2. Select Consolidation if prompted for a Rule Set.
  3. Select Rollover Rules in the Rollover section to open the form.

A list of the current Rollover rules is displayed.

The Rollover rule form opens with all the rollover rule headers in view. 

These columns for the headers are available:

Model

Select the Model that the Rollover rule will apply to.

If no Model is specified, the default Consolidation model in your system will be used.

Start DateSpecify the Date when the rule should start being applied can be specified.
End DateSpecify the Date when the rule should end being applied can be specified.

When you select a Rollover Rule, the Details pane opens at the bottom of the screen displaying the details of the selected rule.

Select the type for the Rollover Rule. Valid options are:

  • CopyOpening 
  • RollOver Month
Source ScenarioSelect value for the Rollover. This field is usually left blank, which means that it'll apply to all Scenario members.
Source AuditSelect value for the Rollover. This field is usually left blank, which means that it'll apply to all Audit members.
Source EntitySelect value for the Rollover. This field is usually left blank, which means that it'll apply to all Entity members.
Source DataView

Select DataView member for the Rollover. 

When specifying CopyOpening rules, the Source Dataview is often All_Values since you want to copy all Dataview members. 

When specifying Rollover rules, the Source Dataview is often Value since you only want to copy source data that has been input.

Source MovementSpecify a Movement member for the Rollover.
Source Year

Specify a numeric value for the Rollover. 

It only applies to a CopyOpening rule. A value of -1 means the prior year.

Source Period

Specify a numeric value for the Rollover.

  • For a CopyOpening rule, this is typically set to 12 (the previous year's 12th period).
  • For a Rollover Month, the value is usually set to -1 (previous period).
SignThe sign used for the Rollover. Valid values are + or -.
Target ScenarioThe Target Scenario for the Rollover. This field is usually left blank.
Target AuditThe Target Audit for the Rollover. This field is usually left blank.
Target EntityThe Target Entity for the Rollover. This field is usually left blank.
Target DataViewThe Target DataView for the Rollover. This field is usually left blank.
Target AccountThe Target Account for the Rollover. This field is usually left blank.
Target Movement

Specify a member as the Target Movement for the Rollover. When specifying CopyOpening rules, the value ‌is usually set to Opening. 

When you set Rollover rules, the Target Movement field isn't filled. This means that it'll copy the data to the same members as the Source Movement.
