You can assign Read, Write, or None access to a model role for each module in a model.

Users with a role that has Read access can view data in the module. Users with a role that has Write access can view and amend data in the module. Users with a role that has None access are unable to access that module and its data.

Before you can assign module permissions, you must add a model role or roles. If you only have the default Full Access and No Access model roles, any user with Full Access to the model can access all modules within the model.

Once you add additional roles beyond the default options, whenever you add a new module, the default access for your additional roles in None. You must assign access to the module for any user without Full Access to open it.

You can view the current module access permissions in the RolesModules tab in the Users pane.

Modules display on rows and roles display on columns. A dropdown menu displays for role in the row for each module. None displays as the default selection for each module when you add a new role.

You can only assign module permissions for user-defined model roles. Full Access and No Access do not display on the Roles → Modules tab.

To assign module permissions to a role:

  1. Go to the Roles → Modules tab in the Users pane.
  2. Select, None, Read, or Write from the dropdown menu for the role.
    The module access for the role changes with your selection.
