To display images on dashboards, boards, or worksheets, you must host the image somewhere accessible and store the URL for the image in your model.

You must store image URLs in a line item with the format Text and the type Link. This enables you to select the URL when you add an image card to a page, or add an image placeholder to a dashboard. However, you can also store your image URL as a list-item property, then enter a formula in the line item that references the property.

In either case, you must format the line item as Text with the type Link.

Note: You can optionally enter display text for any Text cell with the type Link. If you do so, the data in the cell displays as hyperlinked text. You can leave the Display Text field blank if you only want to store the URL.

Host any image you want to display in Anaplan securely, at a publicly accessible URL. Image URLs must begin with https:// and end with a .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .png file extension.

You cannot include spaces when you enter the URL into the line item or list-item property. If your file location contains spaces, you can replace the spaces in the URL with + or %20 when you enter it.

Whether you store your image URLs as line items or list-item properties, we recommend you manage images in a central module. This enables you to reference the same URL throughout your model and ensures consistency.

To store an image URL as a line item:

  1. Select Blueprint for the module that contains the line item, format the line item as Text, with the type Link.
  2. Select Blueprint to return to grid view.
  3. Select the cell where you want to enter the URL and select the ellipsis () that displays on the right.
  4. Enter the image URL in the Link field.
  5. Optionally, enter text in the Display Text field.
  6. Press Enter.
If you only entered the URL in the Link field, the cell displays the URL.
If you've entered the URL in the Link field and text in the Display Text field, the cell displays a link over the text.

To store an image URL as a list-item property:

  2. Select Insert in the toolbar.
  3. Enter Image in the input field and select OK.
