Anaplan XL Reporting, Excel Edition can be used when an Administrator has installed Anaplan XL, but other users will be using it. This might happen, for example, with certain software servicing applications or with Citrix server-based installations. Anaplan XL should first be installed normally and then enabled for users using one of these methods.

  1. Have each user manually add Anaplan XL to Excel. In Excel, use the File > Options > Add-Ins section, then in the Manage dropdown at the bottom of the window, select Excel Add-ins. If it is already listed, select the appropriate Anaplan XL addin (32-bit or 64-bit). If not, then choose the Browse button and locate the add-in. This will be XLCubed.xll for 32-bit Excel installations or XLCubed64.xll for 64-bit installations. Both are installed in the Anaplan XL installation folder.
  2. Have a special shortcut for Excel with Anaplan XL enabled by passing the appropriate XLL file to Excel. For example, the shortcut would launch Excel with Anaplan XL already enabled. You might need to update the directories as required: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\EXCEL.EXE C:\Program Files (x86)\Anaplan\Anaplan XL Reporting\XLCubed.xll
  3. Run the Anaplan XL utility executable on each profile, perhaps in a script whenever a user logs on: C:\Program Files (x86)\Anaplan\Anaplan XL Reporting\XLCubed.Excel.Installer.Utility.exe /reg

The product license key is a file named license.license. You can apply this by copying it and adding it from the Anaplan XL – Extras – licensing dialog. Alternatively, the key can be deployed as part of a scripted installation process by copying it to one of the locations below:

    • The user's roaming profile (equivalent of %appdata%\Roaming\XLCubed Ltd\XLCubed Excel Edition)
    • The installation folder, C:\Program Files (x86)\Anaplan\Anaplan XL Reporting. This means it's valid for all users, but generally not applicable for Citrix.
