Workspace administrators can create an export that enables users to export module data from a model. You can export a module's dimensions, line items, and cell data. Workspace administrators can also export an overview of all the modules in a model.
To set up an export, you must be a workspace administrator with a model role that has access to the module you want to export.
If you're not a workspace administrator, you can only export module grid data from a dashboard or run a process that includes an export. You must have access to the data you want to export. To run a process that contains an export, your model role must have access to the export action.
Note: If you want to export from Blueprint view, consult our guidance on how to export line items.
Export an overview of your modules
To export a high-level overview of the modules in your model:
Go to Model settings > Modules.
Select Export from the toolbar.
In the Export dialog, in the Layout tab, select the file type for the export.
Optionally, in the Labels tab, selectthe Include Row Label Headers checkbox.
This adds the label Modules as the header for the column that contains your module names in the A1 cell.
If you want to save your export settings to run the export again, select the Save Export Definition checkbox at the bottom of the Export dialog. Then:
In the Export Name field, type a name for the export.
Choose whether to share the file with Administrators only or Everyone, or select Myself (keep private).
Select Run Export.
Export data from a module
To export module data:
In the module, select Data > Export.
In the Export dialog, in the Layout tab, select the file type for the export.
For unformatted file types, select the Use digits setting for unformatted exports checkbox to export numbers without decimal separators. For example, 1,000,000 exports as 1000000.
Optionally, in the Labels tab, selectthe Include Row Label Headers checkbox to include row headers in the export.
For example, in an XLS file, the model component positioned on rows in your module displays as a header in the A1 cell. This might be Line items, or the Call Centers list.
Optionally, in Labels, select the list labels you want to include in the export.
You can include list item names, codes, and properties. The default label is Name. You can select X next to a label to remove it from the export.
