Favorites are grouped by cube connection for clarity. You can save favorites locally or publish them to Anaplan XL Reporting Web for sharing among workgroups. Favorites are similar to Grid templates, but are managed within the Anaplan XL environment.
You can save grids as favorites for personal or shared use.
Save favorites
To save a favorite, create a grid report in the Report Designer and select the Favorites icon.Enter a name when prompted and select OK.
Access favorites
You can insert grids that have been saved as favorites from the report designer or from the Anaplan XL ribbon.
Edit or delete favorites
Select Manage Favourites from the Favourites menu. You will be presented with a dialog with connections on the left and saved reports on the right. Right-click a report to rename or delete it.
Sharing favorites with other Excel Edition users
This is intended as a way for Excel Edition users to share favorites. To enable this, you publish them to the web rather than save them locally.
- Create grid report and save it as a favorite.
- Select Web rather than OK to make the report as a web favorite.
- Connect to the web server and select the folder to publish to.
All users who have appropriate repository permissions will be able to access these Web favorites in Anaplan XL Excel Edition. Access saved favorites as before, where you will see an option for Web favourites.
Connect to your web server and you will be able to browse the Repository and select the report.
Sharing grid reports with other Web Edition users
Create a new folder on the Web edition with a proper name (for example Web Favorites), and then publish a series of starting point grids into this folder. Users can then open these up on the Web Edition as needed.
Any grid in Anaplan XL Web can be edited by right-clicking on it and selecting Design grid. Users are also able to add calculations, sorting etc.
Workbook templates
You can publish the current workbook as a template to theWeb Edition. This can then be accessed and used as a starting point by users of Anaplan XL Excel Edition.
- Create your workbook template and then select Publish to Web > Publish Workbook as Template.
- Right-click and add new top- or sub-folders as required in the Published Templates folder. Enter a template name and select Publish.
The template is now saved and can be accessed from Favourites > Open Template.
You can connect to browse the repository and access all the templates stored in the Published Templates folder.
Select one and press OK. You'll be prompted to save a copy of the template workbook. Once saved, required changes can be made to the copy.
