In the grid, you can change the state of multiple checkboxes at the same time from checked to unchecked, or vice versa.

To do this, first select the checkboxes you want to change.

Note: For nested dimensions, you must either choose to select all checkboxes under the outermost header or only those under one of the innermost headers. You can't select only the checkboxes in ‌rows nested under a middle-level nested dimension.

To select:

  • All the check boxes in a grid, select the top-left corner of the grid.
  • All the checkboxes in an entire row or column, select the header for the row or column.
  • All the checkboxes in all the rows or columns nested under the outermost header in a nested dimension, select the outermost header for the nested columns or rows you want to select.
  • Only the checkboxes in the row or column under the innermost header in a nested dimension, select the innermost header for the nested column or row you want to select.

To select only some of the checkboxes in a single row or column:

  • Hold the Shift key down and select the first and last checkbox you want to select. Then release the Shift key. You can only select adjacent checkboxes.
  • To change your checkbox selection, hold the Shift key and select a new checkbox you want to be at the new outer edge of the selection. Release the Shift key, and the limit of the selection changes to the checkbox selected in step 2.

To select all the checkboxes under each of several adjacent rows or columns in the grid:

Hold the Shift key and select the header of the first and last row or column to be selected. 

To select all the checkboxes under each of several non-adjacent rows or columns in the grid:

  • Hold the Command key (on a Mac) or the Control key (on a PC) and select the header for each row or column you want to select. Then release the Command or Control key. You can only select either multiple rows or multiple columns.
  • If you want to change your row selection, press and hold the Command key (on a Mac) or the Control key (on a PC) and select or deselect any headers for each row or column. Release the Command or Control key.

To change the checkbox selection in all selected checkboxes, press Space.
