Use a KPI card to display the value of a line item in a module. Alternatively, you can choose to display the top-left cell of a view. With a view, you can use filters or show a selection to determine the line item. KPI cards are useful if you want to emphasize the value of an important cell.

If you want a sparkline on your KPI card, then select a line item as the data source.

Add a KPI card with line item data

To add a KPI card:

  1. Open the worksheet in designer mode.
  2. Click Configure in the Additional insights section of the Insights panel, under Add cards to this page.
    If cards have already been added to the worksheet, the Configure button does not display. In this case, click the cog icon to the right of the Additional insights heading.

  1. In the Cards panel, double-click the KPI tile, or drag it into a Drag here to reorder or add more cards section.
    The KPI card displays in the Additional insights section of the Insights panel.
  2. Select Line item as the Data source type.
  3. Choose a Module and a Line item.
    The card displays the value of the line item.
  4. Optionally, configure:
    • the Title.
      A default title generates from the name of the view, but you can edit it.
    • the Description.
      Your description displays as a hint when you hover your cursor over the information icon (i) on the published card.
    • the Link to a page dropdown menu.
      When the page is published, the title links to your selected page.
    • Context selectors.
    • a Text style.
    • conditional formatting, from the KPI tab.
    • a number scale and a sparkline, if you have a numeric KPI on a time dimension.
  5. Click Publish.
    Your KPI card is available.


Add a KPI card with view data

To add a KPI card:

  1. Open the worksheet in designer mode.
  2. Click Configure in the Additional insights section of the Insights panel, under Add cards to this page.
    If cards have already been added to the worksheet, the Configure button does not display. In this case, click the cog icon to the right of the Additional insights heading.

  1. In the Cards panel, double-click the KPI tile, or drag it into a Drag here to reorder or add more cards section.
    The KPI card displays in the Additional insights section of the Insights panel.
  2. Select View as the Data source type.
    The View dialog displays.
The Card designer dialog. Custom views and Module views are displayed in the top of the left panel. Custom views is selected by default.
  1. Choose:
    • Custom views, and design a view; or
    • Module views, a module, and a view.
  2. Click Update to close the View dialog.
    The card preview displays the value from the top-left cell of your chosen view.
  3. Optionally, configure:
    • the Title.
      A default title generates from the name of the view, but you can edit it.
    • the Description.
      Your description displays as a hint when you hover your cursor over the information icon (i) on the published card.
    • the Link to a page dropdown menu.
