Use a KPI card to display the value of a line item in a module. Alternatively, you can choose to display the top-left cell of a view. With a view, you can use filters or show a selection to determine the line item. KPI cards are useful if you want to emphasize the value of an important cell.

If you want a sparkline on your KPI card, then select a line item as the data source.

Add a KPI card with line item data

To add or edit a card:

  1. Select Edit this page in the toolbar to open your page in designer mode.
  2. Optionally, add a new card.
    Read how to add a card to a board, worksheet or report.
  3. Select the Configure button on a new card, or hover over your card and select .

To configure the KPI card:

  1. Select Line item as the Data source type.
  2. Choose a Module and a Line item.
    The card displays the value of the line item.
  3. Optionally, configure:
    • Title
      You can edit the default title.
    • Description
      Your description displays as a hint when you hover your cursor over the information icon on the published card.
    • Link to a page
      When the page is published, the title links to your selected page.
    • A Text style.
    • Conditional formatting, from the KPI tab.
    • A number scale and a sparkline, if you have a numeric KPI on a time dimension.
    • Context selectors.

To position your card and publish it:

  1. Optionally, drag and drop your card to where you want it to display.
    • On worksheet pages, the Additional insights panel contains your cards.
    • On board pages, size and arrange your cards in rows and columns.
    • On report pages, freely arrange your cards on report slides.
  2. To save your changes, select Publish.
    You can save the page as a draft if you're not yet ready to publish.

Add a KPI card with view data

To add or edit a card:

  1. Select Edit this page in the toolbar to open your page in designer mode.
  2. Optionally, add a new card.

  3. Select the Configure button on a new card, or hover over your card and select .

To configure the KPI card:

  1. Select View as the Data source type.
    The View dialog displays.
  2. Choose:
    • Custom views, and design a view; or
    • Module views, a module, and a view.
  3. Select Update to close the View dialog.
    The card preview displays the value from the top-left cell of your chosen view.
  4. Optionally, configure:
    • Title
      A default title generates from the name of the view, but you can edit it.
    • Description
      Your description displays as a hint when you hover your cursor over the information icon on the published card.
    • Link to a page
      When the page is published, the title links to the selected page.
    • A Text style
    • Conditional formatting, from the source module.
    • A number scale and a sparkline, if you have a numeric KPI on a time dimension.
    • Context selectors.
